FUCKING USELESS TECHNOLOGY! Class was 3 hours of discussing essay topics, which meant a lot of whiffering and hemming and hahing and, "I haven't worked out my essay topic, but I thought X Y Z was interesting." I'm here in the labs again, trying to access UTS fucking Online so I can post my essay topic and bloody confirm it, and the stupid server is DEAD. I just accessed it 3 freaking minutes ago!

ARGH! I just had dinner - a single bacon cheeseburger from BK - and now I feel SICK. It's the first burger I've had since December or something and I now know why I'm so anti-fast food. For all I know there was like 4% meat in that thing and enought sodium to mummify a horse.

And I bit my lip, reopening the sore that was healing (caused by nervous chewing ; I've been uber stressed) and it's bleeding like anything and I can't feel my tongue for all the grossness of the burger.

I am grumpy and cranky and tired and fully stressed out.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Okay, class wasn't that bad. It was actually very interesting to see what other people were attempting. My professor said that I had the best essay negotiation posted up. Which was great. That's why I really want to get to the damn discussion board so I can see what I actually wrote cause I changed it again after I posted that draft up.

ARGH! I need to go beat someone up!!!!

I have the tendency to wear too much clothing on hot days and too little on cold days. I'm always a) sweating like a pig or b) freezing my ass off. Crazy stupid weather.

My HUGE backpack serves me well, it carries my big black file, my horde of library books, my insanely large pencil case (with about 5 different types of post-its), my water bottle and additional clothing of offers space to dump sweaters, stockings, scarves, gloves into.

If I grow shorter I blame this damn heavy weight I lug about every day.

The Peer Network Pix are finally up. It's under Peer Network. d'uh

//edit: forgot to add the linky link. d'uh
Ode to Yucky Mucus aka Bob

Oh green sticky phlegm
Like a wee snail with no shell
I shall dub thee Bob

Yeah yeah. It's gross. Like I care. I'm sick! My brain is not working. I can't type very well, and the stupid uni lab is stuffy. I'm bloated and potato-like, with bad hair and an even worse temper. Grrr! Phear me! Or I shall sych Bob on you!

RUN YOU MERE MORTALS RUN!!!!!

*temporary insanity due to stress and computer monitor radiation poisoning*

The Anime Club is having a marathon today. ALL TRIGUN ALL DAY! But I'm not watching it for some reason. I also dunno why. I'm allergic to Fun. =(

BooHoo.
The past two nights, I've been suffering butterflies in my stomach, cold palms, clenched teeth and waking odd hours. I've got a weird case of Exam Fever. Apparently, it's transmittable over the ocean and doesn't have to be caused by actually really having exams.

So anyway, lying in bed and having the old familar friend Panic suddenly appear surprised me to say the least. But as I tossed and turned and tried to sleep, I realised just how much I actually miss having exams. I miss all the planning; the regiment of reading XX chapters a day, the writing of notes, colour coding, underlining and highlighting bits of text to emphasise areas of importance, the montage of Post-its that will inevitably decorate my desk: STUDY! CONCENTRATE! Only XX Days to GO!, the sorting and filing away of a semester's worth of 'knowledge'.

I miss the feeling of stepping into an exam hall, clutching my Notecard Notes - the fourth set of notes in my Studying Ritual - and telling myself "It's Gonna Be Okay" and "Remember to Breathe, but try not to Hyperventilate".

miss getting into my seat, arranging my pens, pencils, student card and water bottle Just So. Time would have slowed to a crawl, and the muted mutterings of last minute Good Lucks and I'm Gonna Dies, just becomes white noise to me. Reality warps once I enter The Zone. I'm hyperaware of the hush that descends the hall and can almost taste the trepidation in the air. When the signal to start is given, everything around me disappears and I don't know if I actually breathe until I finish writing.
When I come up for air, there's this calm emptiness that will pervade my being. Like I'm hollowed out.

I miss the rush that comes after an exam, the intense, long-drawn out fear that will last till the moment I get my grades. I will suffer silently during the weeks till the results are released.

It's so crazy. But yeah. I kinda miss exams.
I had all these things to say, but can't think of anything to write. My chest is congested and my temperature is fluctuating between cold and cold and sweaty. Sigh.

So instead, go here and check out my "family"

HAHAHA! I have so much fun reading the comments!

For all the insightful advice, I thank you, Dear Blog Visitor.

I just finished work... it was okay. The library's really crowded in spite of it being the Easter Break. Break? What break?!

I'm feeling a tad bit sickish, so I'll take it easy today and just read and do some light research. My nose is runny and I'm a little dizzy. Sigh.

Tuesday, April 22, 2003

Woohoo! Finished my website for my presentation! Another group presentation to go and I'll have finished with the small stuff! Then it's time to obsess freely about my three final essays.

I'm all jittery from Nerd Adrenalin. The Gummy Bears song is in my head, "Gummy Bears! Bouncing here and there and everywhere!"

*Boing*
Boo! Pilates was cancelled!

So I'm back in the labs doing work. Sigh.
I'm in Uni now. Just finished a little online research. I started one of my three final essays yesterday and planned a website presentation. I have pilates in an hour so I'm looking forward to that.

Woah... I see a guy playing Street Fighter or something on the Uni PCs. They can do that? I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some mindless violence. Feeling lethargic and sluggish, I think because of the weather.

Oh. Any of you fluent in Social Etiquette for Weird Tales of Death Situations?

Dear Social Guru,
The other day at Yum Cha, one of my friends told me his ex-girlfriend was recently stomped to death by elephants. What is the proper response? (He was not joking; the girl was on safari in Africa and the horse she was on threw her off when they were charged by a herd of elephants)

Thank You.

YAY!

I Got Work Done! I just finished my ongoing Online Discussion thingy for Professional Practice and Culture (the class obsessed with plumbers and electricians). Heehee! I realise it's due June 5, so I'm about one month early! HAHAHA!

There's no one responding in my group tho' *pouts* I was hoping there would be a flurry of debate and opinions and stuff. But so far it's mostly, "I found this week's reading interesting. I agree with Author". Bleargh.

What's Playing: Yesterday - The Beatles

I believe in yesterday
... actually, not really.

What's Playing: Across the Universe - The Beatles

Nothing's gonna change my world
... cept if I get hit by a bus

By the by, has anyone got the new Placebo album yet? Any good? If I spend $30 on it, will I kill myself? Should I buy it? Or should I just WAIT till my head explodes?

Or should I buy Zwan? Or Ben Harper? *cries* I want to buy a CD soooooo bad!

I'm hungry! Lunch Time!
What's Playing: Catatonia!

Good morning! I had myself a really good week. Did lots of work, finished most of my readings and managed to have two days of bum-around-restfulness.

And I dream one day I'll find
The one who lives inside my mind
They feel the same way too
We've all been used
Dazed, beautiful, and bruised

Gargh! Flooded by junk mail! Gargh! *drowns in spammage*

There's a reason I never know what's going on in the Peer Network or Anime Club - I can hardly keep up with the spam. All I do when my mailbox is full is start deleting email.

Sigh.

Anyhoo, I had me A Day Off yesterday. Spent it at Chatswood with SY and her new puppy dawg, Scuffy. She's a Darling!!!!

Today I hit the 2,500 word mark on my essay, for which I have been given free reign. *Cackles evilly* I'm a happy girlie. I still have shitloads more to write! HAHAHAH! I love this!

Tuesday, April 15, 2003

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!! I got my word extension! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! *leaps for joy*

Am in the library now, I want to do my work for another hour or so, but I smell food (chicken rice or something) and I really wanna go home and cook now. Hungry!

And so I'm back in Uni at... 10.32pm...

I was doing research earlier and left for home to cook dinner at 6.30. Then at home I realised I forgot my bloody diskette with ALL MY RESEARCH. Stupid Stupid Stupid.

So I came back to Uni to retrieve it and have been sitting here doing my essay for the past 3 hours or so. I should go home. I hope it's not too cold out.

I'm tired. I have work tomorrow. Did I mention the break just started? Well it did. But it sure doesn't feel like a break. It's all my fault really, I should stop obsessing about my work and learn to relax and bludge and sit around all day in my underwear and eat peanut butter out of the jar and watch telly all day.

I already blew my word count, I'm about halfway done and already I have 1,500 words. I need to stop typing, but I'm on a real high right now. Ever heard of anyone who got high on assignments? *Jumps around and waves her arms like a monkey* It's funny how when you want the brain to stop working, it doesn't and when you need to sound uber intelligent you (read: I) end up sounding like a mutton.

Stop typing.

You won;t read this far, so anyway, I wanted to just say I learnt today that the doctor who was treating Sars and died from it is actually the cousin of a friend of mine. It's so sad really. He's a good friend of mine over here, and he's pretty shocked by the news. Poor guy.

Stop typing.

Stop.
Watched City of God today. WOWZA.

I expected it to be like 100 bullets and it was! DAMN. I enjoyed it thoroughly, even the parts when I was wound up tight as a spring expecting someone to get blown away at any second.

I might catch Punch Drunk Love soon as well. I'm quite pissed I missed Frida... I shgould stop procrastinating enjoyment and watch more movies.

Anyhoo... back to work.
Heyho heyho.

Silverchair was fan-fuckin-tastic. The seats were pretty high up, but we got a good view of the band. Daniel Johns is a LOT shorter than I imagined - fancy him being only three inches tall! But what a voice. And so damn pretty to boot. *Salivates copiously*

And if you think *we* had it bad, imagine the poor suckers in the 20 or so rows behind us. It's a wonder they didn't all get nosebleeds.

There was a bald old guy who was really into the band. He was going fully berserk dancing and flailing and shakin his bon-bon. I almost pissed myself laughing.

I'm so in love with Across the Night and After All These Years.

WAH LAO! Tired like mad.

(again)

SOOOOO much work! But then again I have a two-week break starting RIGHT FUCKING NOW! So I'm gonna leave the library and have my dinner (I haven't had a real meal all day) and then trudge home.

SOOOO Hungry.

Tune in my head: Across the Night - Silverchair

HAHAAH! I'm seeing them SUNDAY! HAHAHAHAH!!!!!

*ahem* excuse the rambling, my train of thought is currently a garbage truck.

WAH LAO! Tired like mad.

Today I:
* Fell outta bed, 10am
* Went to work, 11am - 3pm
* Did research, 3pm - 4pm
* Went for Pilates, 4pm - 5pm
* Walked home carrying 5 big ass books, bought mussels for dinner, 5pm - 5.30pm
* Cooked dinner (Sayuh Lodeh, Rice, Chili Mussels), 5.30pm - 6.30pm
* Read big ass books lugged all the way home, 6.30pm - 8.30pm
* Ate Dinner, watched CSI (w00t!), 8.30pm - 9.30pm
* Tried to ignore big ass pile of books calling out to me, 9.30pm - 10pm
* Gave up and resumed work, 10pm - RIGHT FUCKING NOW

Sigh. Tired.

Anyhoo, I received a 'shipment' of comics on Sunday. Woohoo!!!!! I just finished The Couriers. I like! Not as slick as Channel Zero, but good stuff!

~~~HAPPY BUNNY BIRTHDAY~~~
Heading to Cenntenial Park for Bunny's Bonanza Birthdayque! It's a potluck, so I made fried beehoon - I always think noodles are a must-have at a birthday.
p.s: Bunny is not her real name, but it suits her - she's cute and wuvable and smart and is liable to bite you if you piss her off. Rabid bunnykins! She's one of my favourite people in the world. So be a doll and wish her many happy returns.
Was in the library before work started - was geeting some work done - when the sirens come on and we're made to evacuate the building. Waited in the cold for some time, which really pissed me off: what is a fire doing disrupting my studying schedule?! Waste of bloody time... ooooo Firemen! Hel-o there!
Turns out no fire. Someone told me later it was a gas leak nearby or something. Pffft.
Later, we had a small compensatory fire when the bin outside the library started smoking. Hee hee. The security guard ran out to douse it with a barrel full of cooler water. Teeheehee.
In other news, DAMN HELL it's getting cold!!!
Oh and Operation Chicken Rice was uber successful! No more craving for good ole oily chicken rice! I can make my own at home! w00t!
Thursday, April 03, 2003
I have just been informed that **I** was on TV last night! Hee hee! I was at a John Pilger talk on Friday and the ABC featured that item. I was given my 2-seconds of stardom - the obligatory Asian-person shot, I guess. HAHAHA!
My friend tells me I looked "skinny". Which is good! I just hope I didn't have my mouth hanging open or anything. (''p)
Sher
is a
Crumpet-Eating Disco Monkey
...with a Battle Rating of 6.7
To see if your Food-Eating Battle Monkey can
defeat Sher, enter your name:
I'm a Disco Monkey, recognise! Stayin Alive, Stayin Alive, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Eeee, Eeee, Eeee, Stayin Alive!
Heh, Gracie, I whip yo' ass!
Just spent almost 2 hours tinkering with my comments. Gargh! Was s'posed to be doing *work*. Heh heh. Anyhoo, the damn thing should work now. So leave many many!
I have a craving for Hainanese Chicken Rice. *growl* Will be making that for dinner tomorrow. Inviting SY over too! Gab fest!
Food Cravings:
* Chicken Rice
* Sambal Sotong
* Sayuh Lodeh
* Fish Maw Soup
Looks like it will be a week of feasting! Goodbye diet plans!
Oh and on that note, *I* went for my first Pilates class yesterday. Oh my aching abs/glutes. And to think my initial thought after was: "Cheh, that wasn't so bad".
I was like a suffering cow during the class. Most of the people there were lithe and toned and able to achieve a level of flexibility. In contrast, I looked like I had a case of rigor mortis. "Stretch and touch your toes!" Cue me flailing hands at knee level, trying not to grunt and wheeze and fall over. Oh for the grace of a Gazelle on the plains and not the pathetic gesticulations of a retarded flabby cow-girl.
HAHA. I intend to pursue this though. I dream of the day I am able to touch my toes without cheating and bending my knees.
