I'll sleep when I'm dead (Lord kill me now...)

Man oh man. I feel half dead.

Was off today, but I woke at 7am to go visit Grandma (on Dad's side) then trooped to the gym for a workout. Did 2 hours of cardio and weights and 30 minutes of 'running' on the Elliptical Trainer, during which I gawked at the Oscars for a bit (Jodie Foster is hawt!) and substituted my own imagined thank you speeches as I wasn't wearing headphones. Along the line of: GG n00b! I pwn all of j00! crai more!

Met D for a lovely anniversary tunch (our second or third this month, LOL). Watched Epic Movie (note: NOT my movie of choice). It was a great park your brain outside the door movie, and we had added retarded amusement cos one guy laughed and near hooted each time there was a sexual/nude/lewd scene. And he farted damn loudlya couple of times to make his point too. Freaky.

I was a wreck after and could barely open my eyes on the train home. I'm headed to bed in a bit.

Oh please let this work week pass nice and painless...

Manic Saturday and Sunday

Goodness I'm beat.

Was up at 7am for work this morning and only finished at Jurong at 2pm before dragging my very tired and (sore) ass back to the office.

I hope I gets to go home at a decent time... my left eye ball hurts and today's bright sunlight has triggered mad teary eyes.

Went to the doc on Sat cos of a mad twitching and spasming of my left eye over the last few days -- apparently there's a wee scratch on my cornea (speck of dust? grain of sand? miniscule eyeball vandal with keychain?). It'll take a while to heal on its own and I've got some antiseptic eyedrops to prevent an infection meanwhile.

Went to grandma's for customary (and late) CNY visitation. Then I went to the gym did three classes. Leg cramped like hell midway through the first class (Jam; I looked like a retarded monkey... as usual), but hung in there.

Rewarded self for the effort! Brought Nick and Liz for Good Eatin' again.

First roti prata at Causarina, then Cze Char just down the block. We had Chili Crab, Prawn Paste Chicken, Sambal Kangkong and Cuttlefish, Birthday Noodles, and about a ton of fried Mantou... Very delish, very bloated.

I bout bust the seams of the super tight cheongsam top I wore for visitation (Bad Food Fashion Idea #101)

D and I walked about halfway home, then gave up a took a bus the rest of the way. Slept (way too late) and had to drag myself outta bed this morning, more bleary eyed than usual.

Rest day tomorrow! More Gym! More grandma (other one) and anniversary dinner!

T'was a good day today, despite insufficient sleep, the early morning and Impending Doom on Sunday.

Had dinner with D and Ng and Joe Boy (who I've not seen in years) for food and gossip. For the first time in ages and ages, I left the office at 7pm! I'm sure I'll make up for the blessing on Sunday, which looks to be a crazy day.

No matter, today was spent in good company and with good food.

Chinese New Year Shenanigans

Okay, so I lie.

I didn't get up to anything. It was a quiet quiet CNY -- the way I like it really. Went to the gym like a good girlie the last three days. Am now aching like a *bleeeeeep*

FYI, my butt did almost fall off when I went yesterday and today it hung on but I almost fell off the step

FYI #2, I didn't make it through two days without washing my hair (of course lah, I went to the gym! Eeeew)

In an exciting turn of events though, mindless surfing found me the elusive and wonderful recipe for Quiche de Ghim Moh from the inimitable Dr G.

Tried my hand at it today and made two lovely looking pies.

Alas! They do not taste like the flaky, savoury concoctions from Dr G's kitchen. I -- who will, after this post, banish self to hard labour in the gulags -- used the wrong sized measuring spoon and forgot to add water when making the crusts. Oh for shame!!! The crusts crumbled and one was too salty. In my enthusiastic haste to remove the tins, I also accidentally erm, punched a corner off one the pies and desecrated its crust a wee bit.

I am highly embarrassed for botching up such a perfectly simple dish. T_T;

Although, in consolation, my brother did not seem to mind and ate one pie by the time I got back from the gym.

A Homage

Went to Ju's after gym for the annual Feast of the Popiah. *insert sigh of immense satisfaction*

And of course, I had to pay homage to Auntie, the Queen of the Indonesian Black Nuts. *insert another sigh* I was so excited and happy over the feast that I broke out into Song.

It was also great to be Ju and her mum, hang out with both her geriatric dogs, and poke fun at the Three Marks. We played Banlat (also known as Sai Pai) and after a series of amazingly impossible losses, I still managed to win ten cents in profit. This was due to a ever so daring last minute bet of all I had left -- 50 cents. High Roller I tells ya. (pix to come)

Ach, my body's voicing its unhappiness with yesterday's 2 hour 15 minute session at the gym all too clearly this morning. Wonder if I go again today, my butt will fall off midway... plop... haha...

Hair's a conundrum

Har har.

Anyway, got my hair straightened. It's a relief to know I won't have to muck around with my hair, combing and blow drying it only to resort to sticking it into a bun.

The problem is I have no clue how to not wash my hair for two days. o_O

I wanna go to the gym tmw seeing as the I skipped today (damn) cos I had renal clinic. We're also having the our traditional steamboat BBQ for the reunion dinner (aka: smoke de toilette).

OMG...Imagine smelling like meat for the first day of Chinese New Year. (Can hear Big D saying: Ooooooh yeah! already, LOL)

Guess I won't have many friends the next couple of days.... On the bright side, my hair is nice ^_^'V

And thankfully, in a momentous occassion worthy of champers and caviar... *drum roll please*... We're not visiting Grandma this year!!!! Not that I don't like Grandma... Grandma's great... I just hateses having to grin and bear it in front of the strange relos I see only once a year during CNY (or a funeral) and having to suffer inane comments like: Wah you sec what ar?! Wah you so small ar, why your bludder so big?! And the inevitable fight over who I resemble more...Mum or Dad. GODDAMNIT decide already, it's been fricken 26 years!!!! And yes I'm 10 years out of secondary school GEEZ!

Right. Anyway, as I was saying, no need to visit Grandma cos my Aussie cousin's friends are visiting and one of them's just getting over Chicken Pox *insert scary music*

Chicken Pox and the Cytomegalovirus is a Number One NO for me. So we're all staying away and with a perfectly good reason. Oh bliss!

Had a fantastic dinner last night with Nick (noogs) and Liz (IA) at Newton. As per tradition, we ate and swore too much (although not drink too much because as we all know that is not possible)

D brought two british friends and Ken-wannabe-Thai-boy dropped by as well, so we were truly international.

We had stingray, chicken wings, hokkien mee, popiah, oyster omelette, kailan, rice, rojak, cockles, mutton soup, ice kachang and chendol. Tiger of course, and lots of mad gabbing.

T'was great to see Nick and Liz again after two years. *beams*

Sorry, no pictures. As usual we were to busy eating and by the time we remembered, the oppurtunity had passed and the damage was done.

In local news, I wanna straighten my hair so it can look like this.

Been wanting to cut all my hair off again, but after two years of struggling with it, I'm loathe to cut it again and wish for it to be long. Why can't I have it both very long and very short? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!
