A Few Things...

I'm feeling absolutely shitty.

I have to wrap up my 6,000 word essay and move on goddamnit to the cultural identity one.

My back hurts.

My ankle hurts.

I am flatulent and dispeptic.

I am a grumpy puss and a danger to society.

There are 16 more days of uni.

I am stressed out for fear I will miss out on HDs by measly decimal place marks.

My stomach now hurts.

I am cold damnit.

I want a crispy yuo tiao and century egg porridge.

I want a mandatory 5-minute cuddle break.

What is the theorectical logic/break between "space" and "place"?

What the friggin fuck is gnoseological?

Oh and the test on Wed was a disaster. There was no structure and direction. In terms of the test questions and my answers. I wrote as much as my skinny arms and freeze-dried brain could muster.

The whole class went for drinks afterwards to winge and mope and condemn the flows and processeses that led us to transnational cultures.

We decided "flows and processess" in transnationalism could be pretty much transplanted into every day things. Eg, Drinking beer = biological flows and processess. Conversations = social flows and processess. and so on.

Bah. Glad that's over. So much for a HD in this class. Pfffft.

You know something is wrong with yourself when you realise you've done TOO MUCH work. I have to present empirical research for my honours seminar class tomorrow; for the 6,000-word essay (due in June). It's not that I haven't the empirical research... but that I've done three-quaters of the paper already. *sheepish grin* It's possessed me. It's been my obsession the last 2 weeks. I sit, write and worry over it every single day.

I have 4,499 words as of NOW. I feel embarrassed about going in to class with it; my monster of a brainchild.

I know my classmates have either only just decided on their questions or just started with the research. OMG, I am such a FREAK.

My lecturer has already given us a 4 day extension for the paper (haha, pre-emptive strike). My thesis proposal is now due "between 15-25 June" and the presentation is due "in early August" instead of both being due on 15 June. Urm, I've done a quarter of the thing already. I'm getting conccessions without even asking for them. Erm. WHERE'S THE CHALLENGE GODDAMNIT?!

I'm feeling rather silly really. I'm thinking this is what having blue balls is all about. All that excitement and tension and then all you get is noodle.

testing testing

Tuesday, May 11, 2004

I had to post something. The new blogging interface is nice. I like. Very Mac-like.

I am in a good mood despite the friggin cold. I got my 40% debate back and got a HD (yay). Also, I made char kway teow for lunch and it was very very good. Almost like the real thing, if only I had bloody cockles! (still... yay)

There are officially 5 weeks left of uni. OMG! FREAKOUT!

I have one 6,000 word paper, one 3,500 word paper, and one 3,000 word honours proposal to write. And one test.

Hmmm. Doesn't sound like much does it? I should stop whining and get ma bitch ass to werk.

This obsession with food has got to stop.

I am making prawn noodles tonight. Woke up at 930 to make the broth. Mmmmmmmm. It's looking good. I even rendered lard for authenticity. Mmmmmmm. Yummy.

Went out for dinner last night. Was Chrisanthi's birthday - I know her from my honours class - and we had some very good pizza. One of her friends and I shared most of a large Supreme with anchovies. Yuuummmm, anchovies. The pizza crust was thin and crisp, topped with "the lot", which is everything! Pineapple, ham, mushroom, cheese, pepperoni, ANCHOVIES, olives, onion, peppers... mmmm.

It is amazing how cheap eating out is when you get out of the city. We had three large pizzas, one personal vegetarian, one main salad, three orders of garlic bread, one pasta, which came up to $60 - for 10 people!

Mmmmm, hungry now.... all I've had today is tea and a muesli bar. Time for lunch! Heh.

Joining my friends for a graduation shindig tonight. They're going to Luna Park, the the Lowenbrau (a German pub/restaurant) for dinner, then clubbing then crashing at some service apartments. I'm just gonna go for dinner. espcially after I took a look at the menu. Hmmmm pork knuckle....

OMG 10L of Ramen!

I betcha my brother will give these people a run for their money.

So I didn't trip! Yay! My gown and cap were a bit too big, but it was good all round. Feels kind of strange to graduate and have class on the same day. I looked about 12...meh

Happy Graduation all the rest of ya who are graduating! yay!

This is an obligatory... the Yay I'm graduating, this is the (lewd) fertility statue in front of my Uni photo

Graduation Day!

Was up at ungodly hour of 7am to wash hair and fashion it into respectable bowl. It's no longer streaked red, but "chocolate gold" (i.e: brown for those of us not blessed with creative vocabulary). I need to mail my grandparents pictures and we can't have them see my red hair no no no.

Anyway, please pray I don't fall on stage in front of 2,000 other people. Long heavy robes + nerves + silly shoes + my natural abilities for kicking myself in the shins = great boredom reliever for others/embarrassing story to haunt me all my life.

Got to run!

Have you ever had one of those dreams in which you wake up and you realise you're dreaming so you wake up again but you're still in a dream and it keeps happening? Layers and layers of fake-sleep and fake-consciousness and weird dream-universes and shit?

Bugs the shit out of me.

*beams* Guess who overslept today? Heh.

BRRRRRR! It's getting colder. But it looks like a lovely Saturday. Sure, I'll be staying in and pecking away at the keyboard, but out the window, it's a sunny blue-skyed weekend. Hello weekend!
