Rainy Day Girl

Sad as a story, my rainy day girl Sat on her hands in a saccharine world

Did my first 'live' cross to CNA today - a promo of sorts for this weekend's paper. Both cover stories are mine *beams*. And they are running one more inside the paper. Three stories altogether!

This is the second time I'll have three (fairly large) stories run on the same day. On Thursday, I had three stories, each one on one of my beats, which was cool

The story basket must REALLY be drying up for them to resort to this. Esp this weekend, with Easter and all. I am still teh win though, so it's ok.

Made lamb cutlets for lunch today. Realised it's been ages since I've had the time and energy to cook a proper meal. Served it with roasted pumpkin and sweet potato, roast potato, honey roasted carrots and grilled tomato. Super comfort food.

All that lamb fat disagreed with my poor tummy though :(

This weekend I intend to spent actually doing stuff instead of lie in bed/play or watch WoW.

... in case you were wondering...

The "life" summed up thus far

8.45am: Wake Up
9.30am: Cram self into train
10.15am: Arrive at work
10.15am-7pm: WORK (call, email, arrange interviews, write, rewrite, edit, write, rewrite, chase interviews, call, call, email, pray for sleep, call, write, edit, rewrite)
7pm: wait for stories to be cleared
7.10pm: wait
7.20pm: wait
7.30pm: wait
7.40pm: wait
7.45pm: ask about story
7.46pm: "no space, we're not running your story"
7.47pm: Cram self into train home
9.30pm: Bath, dinner, complain
10.30pm: PASS OUT

REPEAT

Occasionally these things happen: Press conferences, Ministers reading from speeches, PR people being 1)evasive 2)pesty, last minute "please check this thing. NOW. (which explains some of the weird SMS some people have been getting), last minute "oh since you have checked out, we won't run it" but fail to inform until 8pm, me running to the toilet to recover from panic attacks.

All in all, educational, stressful, anxiety-ridden.

Looking forward to the long weekend..just one more daaayyyyyyy
