Merry Christmas!

It's a bit late, but I've been busy. So there.

Was up and about yesterday, making turkey dinner for the family. It's not so hard when you plan everything in advance. I spent a couple of hours planning the day before - down to drawing step-by-step 'How To' for the Kitchen Slave.

Good Christmas Eatin' 2005

Turkey and chestnut stuffing
Honey-garlic roasted pumpkin
Roast peppers with feta
Candied 'yams'
'Christmas Salad' (cherry tomato, parsely and toasted pinenuts)
Creamy mashed potato with roasted garlic
Pineapple glazed ham (courtesy of Olive bistro...***** stars!)

No time for gingerbread houses, so this year's centrepiece was a Brocoli Tree (recipe here) . It's in Japanese (those crazy Japs!), but it's still pretty self explanatory. I made mine with mashed sweet potato, brocoli, quail eggs, parsely, cherry tomatoes and a yellow star earring. Haha. I made a single mashed potato man, but recieved disgusted looks of horror for "senselessly wasting perfectly good mash".

Not as tempting as last year's Gingerbread House I'll admit but still pretty. :)

My feet were killing me after, but I did lose an extra 300g from all the exertion, pre-dinner that it. After, I was scared to weigh myself. Haha.

*Disclaimer: Mr Reindeer and Mr Snowman's shenanigans are not my doing. Poor Mr Mashed Potato Man! He looks scared/traumatised/about to hurl himself off the table...
