Merry X'Mas!
Okay, so I detest Christmas and turn into a wee grinch everytime it comes around. I'm making it a point to look beyond the plastic commercialism this year and count my numerous blessings.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas filled with love and food and chocolate.
I'm cooking a Christmas Feast tonight for the family: Roast turkey w/ chestnut and bacon stuffing, creamy garlic mashed potato, roast sweet potato and pumpkin, salmon quiche. Plus there will be a honey baked ham, breads and wine. And a gingerbread house so loaded with sugar it's going to be impossible to eat.
The turkey has been brining for over 24 hours. I'm headed to the market for some vegetables.

Settling In
It's only been a week, and it feels like I've been home for ages. Been pretty busy running around hospitals, unpacking, cleaning, packing, and listening to the boys discuss WoW all day and night.
I miss my Sydney apartment and the neat little life I had there - things here are not yet settled and planned as much as I'd like/am used to.
Food is a great compensator, although I'll have to curb the binging. Already, D's put on 4kg and I've stacked on almost 2kg in one week!
Anyway, time to go. I have a writing test for me new job at 10. *pees in pants*

Excuse the lapse in posts, but in accordance to ritual, I have been too busy stuffing my face with a minumum of four meals a day.
My boxes arrived two days ago amid drama befitting an episode of The Amazing Race and Border Security. Rude customer service - ah! Welcome home!
Anyway, it's been a whirlwind of unpacking/packing, visiting the grandparents, spending time with family, the boyfriend and the new addition to my family - Toby the drooly dog.
Now it's time to find a job! I mean, we've got to catch up! My old mobile number is back in service all! So call me! (this is not a request)

Just quickly...
Absolutely exhausted from majorly intensive house cleaning. Oh my aching body.
Carpet has never been whiter *beams*
Officially homeless tomorrow
Living with shared bath/toilets for the next 5 days. Woe!
Eating out for a whole week is wreaking havoc with my digestion. :(
Going internet cold turkey for just a couple of days is HARD.
Home in 5 days!

Okay, it didn't reach 42 degrees yesterday, but it did today! OMG. Thank god it's getting cooler now. *swelters*
Spent the past two days in a frenzy of packing and cleaning. Excitement plus. Am so exhausted; my hands are crusty and greasy from all the Jif and kitchen grime. Yuck.
Today we sent a total of 387.7kg of cargo home: Our lives in little boxes.
Home in 6 days. Are you excited?
